FAQ
1. What is an SUS Cable Tie and how is it different from a plastic cable tie?
An SUS Cable Tie, also called a stainless steel cable tie, is a heavy-duty fastening solution made from SUS 304 or SUS 316 stainless steel. Unlike plastic or nylon cable ties that may weaken or crack under sunlight, heat, or chemicals, SUS cable ties are built for extreme durability and high temperature resistance up to 500°C. They provide strong, long-lasting bundling for cables, hoses, and pipes in industrial and outdoor environments where plastic ties cannot perform reliably.
2. What is the difference between SUS 304 and SUS 316 stainless steel cable ties?
The main difference lies in their corrosion resistance.
SUS 304 cable ties are ideal for general industrial applications such as construction, automotive, and electrical installations.
SUS 316 cable ties contain molybdenum, offering superior protection against saltwater and chemical corrosion, making them perfect for marine, offshore, and petrochemical environments.
Both types have excellent tensile strength and temperature resistance, but SUS 316 provides enhanced performance in harsh or coastal locations.
3. How do I install a stainless steel cable tie correctly?
Installation is simple and can be done by hand or with a stainless steel cable tie installation tool. Insert the tail end through the self-locking head until it fits snugly around the bundle. For tighter and more secure fastening, use a manual or pneumatic cable tie gun to apply even tension and cut off the excess tail cleanly. The ball-lock mechanism ensures the tie won't loosen, even under vibration or temperature changes.
