Epoxy Coated Metal Tie
The basic structure of epoxy-coated metal cable ties consists of two parts: a metal substrate and an epoxy coating. The metal substrate is primarily made of materials such as 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, and galvanized steel, with 316 stainless steel offering the best corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for marine and chemical environments. The substrate thickness is typically between 0.25-0.7mm, and available widths include 4.6mm, 7.9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 17mm, and 19mm, among others.
Hangzhou Gordon Electric Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of epoxy coated metal tie in China, also supports custom service. Please feel free to wholesale advanced epoxy coated metal tie made in China here from our factory.
In terms of mechanical properties, the minimum loop tensile strength varies significantly among different product specifications: approximately 600N (135lbf) for 4.6mm wide products, approximately 800-1000N (180-225lbf) for 7.9mm wide products, approximately 1200N (270lbf) for 12mm wide products, and approximately 1500N (335lbf) for 15mm wide products.
Temperature resistance is one of the key characteristics of this product. Standard products have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +150°C, while special models can withstand extreme temperatures from -80°C to +540°C. This characteristic allows it to maintain stable performance in various harsh environments.
Main Application Scenarios:
Foundation Engineering: Used for reinforcing steel tying in damp environments such as foundations, retaining walls, tunnels, and underground parking lots.
Bridge Construction: Epoxy-coated rebar tying effectively prevents rebar corrosion in bridge decks, piers, and other structures.
Marine Engineering: Reinforced concrete structures in marine environments such as ports and docks require extremely high corrosion resistance.
Roads and Airports: Infrastructure construction such as highways and airport runways.

Quality Assurance & Certifications
Manufacturing Process and Quality Standards
The production of epoxy-coated metal cable ties primarily utilizes an electrostatic spraying process. The specific process includes:
Pre-treatment stage: The metal substrate undergoes degreasing and rust removal to ensure a clean surface.
Preheating stage: The substrate is heated to 180-220°C to enhance powder adhesion.
Electrostatic spraying: Under a high-voltage electrostatic field of 60-100kV, negatively charged epoxy powder is uniformly adsorbed onto the grounded metal surface.
High-temperature curing: Curing at 180-220°C for 15-20 minutes allows the powder to melt and form a dense coating.
Quality inspection: Key indicators such as coating thickness, adhesion, and continuity are inspected.

FAQ
How does the thickness of the epoxy coating on epoxy-coated metal cable ties affect their performance? How should the appropriate coating thickness be selected?
The core functions of the epoxy coating are corrosion protection, insulation, and protection of the base material. The thickness directly affects the product's protective performance and service life: standard coating thickness (0.025-0.075mm) is suitable for general industrial environments and indoor applications, meeting basic corrosion protection and insulation needs; thicker coatings (0.15-0.45mm) are suitable for marine, chemical, and extreme outdoor environments, resisting strong corrosive media (salt spray, acids, and alkalis) and long-term UV exposure, extending the protective life by 2-3 times.
Selection recommendations: For dry indoor environments (such as cable fixing in ordinary factory buildings), choose standard thickness; for outdoor, coastal, and chemical corrosive environments (such as pipeline fixing on offshore platforms, wiring harness bundling in chemical plants), choose a thicker coating; for high-temperature environments (such as engine compartments, boiler surroundings), high-temperature resistant epoxy materials should be used, and the uniformity of the coating thickness should be controlled to avoid affecting heat dissipation.
