UV Cable Tie

When installing UV nylon cable ties, how to avoid material damage caused by over-tightening? Are special tools required? ​

The pre-tightening force needs to be controlled at 70%-80% of the ultimate tensile force (e.g. 377-431N is recommended for the 539N model). Over-tightening will cause the molecular chain to break and reduce weather resistance. It is recommended to use an electric cable tie gun with torque adjustment function (such as TG-4 model), which can accurately set the tension value and improve the efficiency by 3 times compared with manual operation. When installing manually, the standard is "the cable tie is close to the tied object and there is no obvious deformation", and a 5-10mm length is reserved at the tail. When cutting, a 45° bevel is used to avoid sharp edges.

How to choose the size of the UV nylon cable tie according to the diameter and weight of the tied object? Is there a general selection formula?​

Diameter and weight should be considered when selecting: in terms of diameter, the length of the cable tie should be ≥ 1.5 times the circumference of the tied object (e.g., an object with a diameter of 100mm has a circumference of about 314mm, and a cable tie with a length of ≥ 471mm should be selected, corresponding to 18-20 inches); the width should match the weight, 2.5-4.8mm width should be selected for less than 130N (13kg), 5-7.6mm width for 130-300N (13-30kg), and 8-9mm width for more than 300N. Dynamic loads (such as vibrating equipment) need to be upgraded to one width level on this basis. For example, a 7.6mm wide cable tie is recommended for a 20kg dynamic load. When there is no general formula, refer to the "diameter-tension-size comparison table" provided by the supplier to ensure that the safety factor is ≥ 1.5.
